This weekend was a HUGE learning curve. I wasn't happy with the experience as a whole, but there are still a lot of takeaways from this event. Most important of all though was the time I got to spend with my team. It was a girls weekend in our room to be sure, and I had a lot of good laughs and a lot of good chats. I hope that CF uses the comments from these sorts of events constructively and grows and moves forward, otherwise, I don't know how successful these will continue to be. Tanya Wagner came as an affiliate member because she said that going through the individual competition was too stressful. If your previous year winner says that, what can that possibly mean? I hope that CF learns from this and makes the competitions better next year. I hope that everyone can have the type of experience I had at sectionals, and not the type I had at regionals.Katiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00526466324237785391noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5977007359627193869.post-76940123327526103792010-05-11T12:25:18.211-04:002010-05-11T12:25:18.211-04:00Hey Katie, great job at regionals. Seems like that would be a no brainer...

It seems that increasingly some of the people putting these events together have no clue what they are doing. Not only with the organization, but also with the programming. Last year's CF Games was just crazy. How many of the top dogs went down with injuries last year? Tanya Wagner even admitted to having nightmares for months afterwards (PTSD?)

Is this really what CrossFit is about? I don't think so, but that's just my opinion. If they keep going in this vein I think they will seriously injure or kill someone. And if they do, it will just be in a "macho" effort to show how tough and badass they are, which would be pretty stupid. I think they are losing sight of what the goal of CrossFit is (or was) and that is fitness.tamikamariahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15972967735327553353noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5977007359627193869.post-30860920797434626652010-05-11T06:15:06.612-04:002010-05-11T06:15:06.612-04:00As someone brand new to CF I am so impressed with ...As someone brand new to CF I am so impressed with what you did. I understand the conditions were less than ideal, but to me that just makes you so much more amazing. You are an inspiration tome that someday I will be able to lift more than a 20 pound bar. Not being there I could only assume the scoring and all else would be a mess. And no inside shelter for the athletes? Not even a shed? Ridiculous, whether hot, cold, or rainy. I'm sorry it was a rough weekend, but you pushed through my dear and did us proud. In the end, its not about winning or losing, its about what you learned about/proved to yourself. And that's that you're bad ass! Rest up then take some time to actually have FUN!Erinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09397224584712205302noreply@blogger.com
