CrossFit Old Town: Strong Beautiful Women...

I missed my workout (and my run) this weekend due to some much needed late night fun. I bumped into my old boss and stayed out late on Friday, then spent yesterday shopping and running errands until it was time to do some karaoke! We hit up Rockit Grill to say goodbye to our good friend Georgia who is leaving us this week. I wish her the best but hope she knows that she'll be sorely missed. In between my excessive drinking and laziness, I put together this video for all the ladies at CFOT. I couldn't use any videos, because apparently I can't save them from our site since they're on YouTube. Damnit. But I like the end result anyway... I hope everyone enjoys this... I worked pretty hard on it...

For whatever reason, I can't link this as a full wmv and I know it's small. To see the full wmv, which is much better, follow this link to CrossFit Old Town. (Due to site issues this link was not working for awhile... it is now fixed as of 9/14)

As an aside, my page is going nuts at the moment, so I'm not sure where you are all coming from, but regardless, please take a moment to leave a comment or two. The ladies in this video work very hard, so please feel free to give them your encouragement... :)

Awesome Katie...

Thanks for taking the time to put that together.

The video is an anthem for CrossFit Oldtown and our Strong Beautiful Women!

It's been said before; we see a lot of drive, determination, and dedication at CFOT...the results goes way beyond a physical workout.

Great video. I feel lazy and weak for watching it while sitting down.

hey dude, great vid!

and i watched the progress on your chins from a few days ago, and it was really neat to watch.

and about your comment on my site...i'm really getting into the oly lifts. i felt with crossfit i didn't have a discernible goal, but when doing the catalyst athletics WODs, the improvement is there and measurable.

anyway, i'll prob get bored with them soon and go back to cf. ha!

You did such a great job with this video, Katie. Thank you so much for your friendship. I'm going to miss you and all the other CFOT-ers. Great singing on Saturday too :)

Can't wait to see this on the main page!

You know what? I am a total nerd. I could not wait to get home from work tonight and see what you guys thought of the vid. I'm glad you all like it.

I feel 100% blessed to workout with this group of women. Looking at these photos, you can tell that they are strong. But what you can't see is just HOW strong. Can you tell what woman in that video has a slipped disc? Or who is recovering from shoulder injuries? Or who is going to have surgery on their knee? Can you tell who is going through things right now that are mentally shaking them down? Nope... you can't... these ladies are that strong that they face adversity in the eye, and they keep going.

The ladies of CFOT are some of the toughest women I know. If I were a military person... I would give them a big HOOAH! But I'm not, so I probably shouldn't... so I'll just give them my video instead...

Georgia... we are going to miss the hell out of you!!! I doubt you will see this on the main site though... my video doesn't have all the fun tricks and other stuff that the other people, like Overload, do... but it is a nice thought! I'd love to see the CFOT women up there for the world to see! :)

Becca, that's a pretty awesome compliment to wish that you could work out with us. Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the video! :)

Jerry dude, it's cool. I just like to give you grief. It's how I roll... I'm glad you're liking the different workouts!

The progression vid is kinda cool though isn't it? It's amazing what this stuff can do for you! :)

Very cool video! I don't know how any woman could watch that and not want to be just like that. Who would want to be a Paris Hilton stick woman when you could be a CrossFit strong woman?!

Also, big congrats on your totally killer Fran time the other day! Whooooooo!

One more thing, then I swear I'll shut up. Watching your video of the pullups I was amazed at how much whip you have going. On quite a few reps your knees almost hit your chest at the top of the pullup. That's some serious power there.

Thanks Tami! I'm glad you liked the vid! Thanks for the compliment on Fran too. I'm not going to lie... that one felt pretty good... well, once I recovered feeling to my arms... that took a solid half hour... :P

Andrea and I shook on a new goal today... a full rx'd Fran at the end of the 12 week challenged... 95lb thrusters and all... we'll see how that goes... :P

As for the chins... it took me a lot of work to be able to do that. I have a lot of leg/hip drive that gets me over the bar, but it took me awhile to learn how to do that. I also have a lot of awesome people to watch in class! I'm a little nervous about the new place. It's going to have fixed bars and I don't do as well with them... :(
