Has to be written...

Today was another long day. It also happened to be Back to School Night. I expected that there would be lots of questions, a few concerns, and in general, a pretty high stress level. It's to be expected. But what I wasn't expecting was what happened as Back to School Night drew to an end. My pirate and I were talking as I was heading for my car and he was asking how everything went. I was telling him all about it, and everything seemed normal until I walked outside. It was then that my day turned into a scene from an 80's movie. Maybe it was the scene where the limo drives away in 16 Candles, only to reveal Jake Ryan waiting for Samantha at the church. Or maybe it was the scene where John Cusack holds up the radio and blasts Peter Gabriel. I'm not sure...

All I know is that when I walked outside, I saw a rather tall figure standing in front of my car. When I looked at the cars left in the parking lot and saw a white truck, I lost it. There was my pirate. After a long day, and five hours of driving, he was waiting for me, with a big hug and kiss. It was the absolute sweetest and most selfless thing anyone has ever done for me. It was by far the best surprise I could have had this evening. I know it's not really appropriate to hug and kiss someone in the parking lot, but for the effort he put in, the rules needed to be broken tonight. He is now cooking me dinner... I can't ask for anything more.... he is wonderful.... and I am quite possibly the luckiest woman in the world. I'm sad that he will be leaving in the morning to drive back to work, but I'm so glad he made the effort tonight. He is worth everything I have put into this so far..... I'm very happy to have found him.

Glad to hear, Katie. You deserve it. A five hour drive is impressive, indeed.

I hope this turns things around for you after your past few posts! I hope the dinner was Zone friendly. Aside from the beer, that is!

1. Was he wearing a Pirate hat?
2. When you guys CF...do you go for time or AMRAP?
3. Wow. Us guys are usually boneheads with stuff like this. You actually found one that isn't!!!
4. I'm happy for you too...the both of you!

Thanks KTF... it was great to walk out of the building late last night and find the unexpected...

The dinner was relatively zone friendly... but I won't say it was strict... ;) And I've decided that adult beverages don't count... :)

Justa, there was no hat, although... that gives me an idea as to how I can say thanks for being wonderful...

When we CF AMRAP or for time is workout dependent... we do both...

Justa, he can be a bonehead, but I'm discovering that when he doesn't need to be a hard tough guy, he's quite possibly the most thoughtful person I've ever known...

I'm very happy, and it's nice to know that there are people out there rooting for me too! :)

This is sad... he was coming up to see my friend. He didn't leave you the next morning to go to work... he left to spend time with her. He drove up here because they planned it... not to surprise you.

All of it was lies Katie. I really hope you didn't know... otherwise that says numerous things about your character.

The more I read, the more shocked I am by his behavior. Tell "your" pirate that I pity him the cycle of karma he has coming toward him.

And to think, we (my friend, me and you) all live so close to each other. It was so easy for him... He could tell you he was going home or in to work, and he was going just up the street.

My friend has little interest in trying to make you understand this stuff but I on the other hand am intent on making sure you understand what you're dealing with. No one should get away with treating people the way he has.
