Honestly? I like consistency... but that's not to say that everyone does. I like to try to hit the same number each round.
So with that workout I tried to find something that I thought I could hit consistently. I probably could have done five rounds the first 3 minutes, but I thought I had a better chance of holding 4 rounds if I stuck with it... and I did. But that's just me... It still sucked even though that first round I sort of paced myself...
Katie, I uber'd it with 95lbs and got 4+2, 3+3+6, 3+2, 3+1, 3+2. I love power cleans, they are my favorite, but I have the same love/hate relationship with push-ups as you. I find I pace myself more on workouts that are "# of rounds in __ min" and push harder when it's "for time". Do you find the same thing?
Congrats Robin! I can't believe you went up in weight! Psycho! :P
In terms of my rounds per minute vs. the clock, I do tend to push harder on for time stuff, simply because of my background. Growing up I did more endurance sports like soccer and swimming. I wasn't a sprinter, and when doing things like the 200 breast, consistancy was preached over and over. That's really stuck with me, and I try to remain consistant, so I try to go rounds or numbers that I think I can stay at. When it's me and the clock though, it's sort of like "game on". There's no room for consistant.
Having said that though, while I can go and go and go, I have a really hard time with workouts like Fran where you just need to get out of that comfortable zone and push balls to the wall and gas yourself.

LOL... I'm glad I'd at least get one viewer in the box office! ;)

Thank you Robin... I try to be... :)
