I got hosed by CrossFit Tommy... I got hosed...



So, I have to tell you. 7 days of CrossFit didn't hurt as bad as I thought it was going to... until rest day on day 8. Trevor smoked my backside. I have never done more than 20-25 RX'd push ups in a set before. They are by far a weakness for me. Well on Sunday I was hell bent and determined to see them through without modifying to my knees. I did, and I was proud of my effort, even though it was significantly less than Keturah's output. That girl was a machine! Big ups to her! So anyway, I went happily (snicker) to work that night and felt alright. Usually after epics I'm exhausted and sore, but I really didn't feel it. Then rest day came. I figured 8 days of straight CrossFit would be too much, not to mention the tear in my hand is pretty sizeable and difficult to cover, so I figured I'd just chillax on Monday.

Well, alarm went off, and I rolled over to turn off the alarm. As I moved my arm, I swore a whole whole lot. I couldn't move my shoulders or arms without pain. Oh the price was being paid. I thought after yesterday it would lesson and I went in today, but man, when Jerry said ring dips. I almost cried. Then when Jerry said burpees later, I think I did tear up. So, it was a sore day in the blue room, but I got there. So points for that. Here's what the fun looked like today.

So, when I saw Jerry writing only two exercises on the board this morning, I kind of thought to myself that this circuit wouldn't be too bad. Wow, what a mistake that was. I got hosed, Tommy, I got hosed. By 2 stinkin exercises! I really thought my arms would loosen up and I'd be ok. No, no. They just hurt more. I have to say though, I was pretty impressed. I was still able to gut through the dips, and I was able to complete the round of 12-dips and 24-jumping squats. I thought that was a pretty nice number. Then the bombshell. The J-Bomb. (Jerry Bomb)

"Ok, now circuit 2 is gonna look like this. Burpees and chins." I think at that point I did actually tear up. Push-ups? Ow ow ow... chins... with the torn hand? Ow ow ow. I am somewhat of a wuss when it comes to the tears and gripping the bar. I want to cover them, but can't get the same feel on the bar, so it just sucks. So today, I subbed ring rows for the chins. No lie, those suckers hurt like no other. Your forearms are just on fire. On this circuit, my output dropped SIGNIFICANTLY. I was only able to get through the round of 8 and 14 and half of the round of 9 and 16. I was smoked. Man, I am starting to feel more confident in my pushups, but burpees still just stink man. No matter how you slice it. I walked out today like a puppy with my tail between my legs. Even with a pretty solid week last week, man, there are days where CrossFit just hoses you. Don't worry Tommy. I feel you. I got hosed by CrossFit Tommy, I got hosed.

Thanks McCall... last week I got a little tipsy off the Kool-Aid... I think Jerry might have spiked it... ;)
